My name is Allison McVicker and I am pursuing a bachelor's degree in journalism at Bowling Green State University while also minoring in sociology. I am currently a volunteer writer for BG Falcon Media, BGSU's student media outlet, and I also worked as an intern there earlier this year. Through this internship, I wrote several stories about local happenings in Wood County, popular culture controversies, and nonprofit organizations' contributions to the community.

This past summer, I spent my time interning for the Suburban-Metro Press in Millbury, OH. During my time there, I analyzed and uploaded newspaper archives,  interviewed community members about their accomplishments, and learned what goes into perfecting the format of a newspaper.I hope that as I start my career in journalism,  I continue to find more opportunities for me to enhance my skills in writing, interviewing, conducting research, and photography.
