My name is Allison McVicker and I am pursuing a bachelor's degree in journalism at Bowling Green State University while also minoring in sociology. I am currently interning for BG Falcon Media, the university's independent student media outlet. Through this internship, I've written several stories about local happenings in Wood County, popular culture controversies, and nonprofit organizations' contributions to the community. Although my time as an intern has come to a close, I still plan to write for both the outlet's website and print newspaper during my last semester this fall.
As I'm approaching the end of my third year at BGSU, I'm looking forward to spending my summer as a news intern at The Suburban Press in Millbury, OH. As an intern, I will have the opportunity to write stories about and take pictures of various local events and potentially use the outlet's archives to increase audience engagement. I hope that as I start my career in journalism, I continue to find more opportunities for me to enhance my skills in writing, interviewing, conducting research, and photography.
